Big Bluesy Spoonful with Annette and Carter

05.14.13

Ever been to a dance workshop and by Sunday you just want to hang out, listen to a little live music, eat cake and dance the afternoon away..?  Well, your friends at Edinbop are here to help.

For the ultimate chilled out blues weekend; take one sunny* summer weekend, two international teachers, and three inviting dance spaces. Combine with a whole lot of dancers and gently beat together to the rhythm of the blues.  Allow to relax for the weekend, top with a generous “Sunday Session”, a sprinkling of live music, and serve.

(* This is Scotland; sunshine not guaranteed!!)

THE TEACHERS:

Annette Kühnle and Carter Holloran have been bringing joy and energy to blues dance floors around Europe for years. Sharing a love of blues music and the simple joy of movement, this dynamic duo is passionate about sharing it all, and helping you to bring out your inner awesome.

Annette hails from Heidelberg, Germany and is one of Europe’s most prominent proselytisers of blues dance as a teacher, competitor, social dancer, DJ and organiser. Her love of teaching and dancing are infectious and if you’ve travelled for blues, you probably already knew that!

Carter grew up in the USA but now lives London, where he teaches regularly and is a proud member of Blues Revolution. He’s been dancing something called “blues” for 10 years and has studied music for 20. This depth of experience informs his teaching, which emphasises musicality, connection and – most importantly – fun!
