Edinbop is pleased to announce a Collegiate Shag takeover of Monday nights!
For the month of February, Monday nights are being shaken up a little with Collegiate Shag classes from Rebecca, Adam, and Murray – some of the best Shag dancers in Scotland.
Lessons will be flipped around from their usual schedule, meaning that Fundamentals starts at 7pm, and Improvers will begin at 8pm. Improvers will follow on directly from the Fundamentals lesson – meaning anyone who attends the Fundamentals class is welcome to jump in and give it a try.
Boteco do Brasil, Lothian Street, Edinburgh EH1 1HB.
One dance class – £6 // £5 concessions
Two dance classes – £10 // £8 concessions
9pm – 10pm, with music suitable for Balboa, Shag, and other fast swing dances.
£3, or included in the price of a class.
Edinbop’s Lindy Hop Beginners Workshop is back!
Learn to dance this classic swing dance over two days, going from the very basics to social dancing with confidence! This workshop with Ellen and Rob will focus on good fun, good technique and good moves (and at a good price too – £30/£25 concession for 6 hours of lessons!).
Dates: Saturday 16 – Sunday 17 February
Venue: The Counting House, Edinburgh city centre
More information can be found on our calendar or Facebook event.
Thinking of a dance-related New Years resolution? This is the perfect opportunity to put it into practice!
Edinbop are running a Blues Beginners Workshop on the 19th January, with the wonderful Jess and Greg teaching the basics of this complex family of dances. Whether you are new to Blues or already confident, this is the perfect opportunity to gain a solid grasp of basics such as connection, and introduce fun to your dancing.
There will also be a party in the evening with live music from Cat Loud.
Find more information on our events calendar.
Edinbop’s Christmas break starts this week. Balboa and Lindy Hop classes have already finished, and Blues will finish on the 18th December.
All classes and socials will start up again on the week beginning the 7th January.
Merry Christmas to all of our dancers from the Edinbop committee!
Find the survey here.
This year, Edinbop is running our big survey. We put out a survey every two years to canvass your opinions on all aspects of how we run – including the weekly lessons (Blues, Balboa, and Lindy Hop), the socials, our teachers, our DJs, weekend events, and much more.
It is really important to us as a committee that we get your feedback. We take your responses into account while planning and running the next two years of dancing. After all, we work for YOU and want to make sure you get what you want/need out of coming along to our lessons and events.
There’s an option to go through the survey just clicking buttons, and this should take no longer than 5 minutes (less if you don’t do all three styles of dance). We have also included several text responses, and it would be fantastic if we received some candid opinions from you regarding the various aspects of Edinbop. If you do wish to comment, it shouldn’t take longer than 10 minutes to complete the whole survey.
The survey is totally anonymous, but is vital in dictating how we progress for the next two years. If you have any issues filling the survey in (including making the survey more accessible), please let us know and we can try to resolve any problems.
