7:00 - 8:00pm

Foundations: Connection and Posture – Basics of Jookin' + Ballroomin'

Regardless of whether we're solo dancing or dancing with a partner, we always need to have an earth-centric posture and be connected to the ground, the music and ourselves when blues dancing. When dancing connected to a partner, having that partnership be comfortable as well as functional is essential to maximising everyone's enjoyment.Jookin' (in-place rhythms in packed bars) and ballroomin' (travelling in big ballrooms) are the two main groupings of blues dances. Learn to connect with a partner and get the basics for joining the evening's social dance in this class. As always, complete beginners welcome, no partner necessary.

8:00 - 9:00PM

Improvers Class- Boogaloo

Boogaloo is a style of blues music and dancing characterised by funky Latin rhythms. We'll learn some of its emblematic moves, including Greg's favourite: the hitch-hiker!Prerequisites: No specific prior experience necessary, but beginners will likely find this challenging.
